Born Through Porn
When one of Jeff Koons’ first major, highly controversial exhibitions, “Made in Heaven”, was set to return to the public after 20 years in hiding, Watson & Company was brought in to commemorate the event. First shown in 1990, the work — which depicts Koons and his now ex-wife, Italian porn star Ilona Staller, engaged in graphic sex acts — caused an outrage so huge it helped to make Jeff Koons, well, Jeff Koons. To help spread the good word of the exhibition’s return, W&CO created some provocative print advertising and a limited edition pink cloth-bound book.
