Born Through Porn
When one of Jeff Koons’ first major, highly controversial exhibitions, “Made in Heaven”, was set to return to the public after 20 years in hiding, Watson & Company was brought in to commemorate the event. First shown in 1990, the work — which depicts Koons and his now ex-wife, Italian porn star Ilona Staller, engaged in graphic sex acts — caused an outrage so huge it helped to make Jeff Koons, well, Jeff Koons. To help spread the good word of the exhibition’s return, Watson created some provocative print advertising and a limited edition pink cloth-bound book.
